it's your world: dear mr. president...

     Throughout history, women all over the world have had to evercome difficult times and gender inequality.  Those times aren't over.  In fact, even in the US, there is a pay gap of 21.6% between men and women.  Women and girls are being sexually harassed and assaulted.  The media is putting unhealthy pressure on teens. 

     But this is the year of the girl.  My ideal world for girls is one where there is no gender discrimination or pressure in education, employment, or social media.  My ideal world for girls has 250 Fortune 500 Companies run by female CEO's, not 18.  My ideal world for girls is full of confident, active girls who have a voice of change.  When a girl is succesful, the rest of society benefits. 

     As a candidate, you should help close the pay gap for women.  Offer scholarships for girls who would not have a chance at secondary education.  End the tirade of negative images and messages portrayed to young impressionable girls.  And most of all, listen.  Girls all over the world have so much to offer.

     The boys have had their turn.  This is the year of the girl.
